Research lines
Effects of wildfires on soils, Soils and
geomorphology, Soil hydrology, Soil erosion, Soil water repellency.
Current research
- Effects of wildfires on soils. Ongoing work
includes, for example, hydro-geomorphological responses of burned soils,
changes in physical and chemical properties and fire-induced soil water
repellency.
- Rainfall-induced erosion in Mediterranean soils.
Soil erosion is the main cause of soil degradation in the Mediterranean,
and my studies focus in mapping soil erosion processes, surface
hydrological processes and the use of rainfall simulation techniques.
- Land use change as consequences in the context of
global change, as soil degradation processes and carbon dynamics.
